This is the track I had mentioned in my last blog. I wanted to display my storytelling abilities with this one.
Might be long over due, but I hope you're still able to enjoy it!

AlBe Back - Mira, Mira (ft/ Karl Anthony & Fabolous)... Better late than never!
I added my part to this back in April/May of last year. And as time went on I forgot about it. I remember feeling like I "HAD" to do a verse to it because the hook had been stuck in my head for sooooo long [pause]!
Albe Back is one of those guys who I feel doesn't get his props musically; so if my opinion counts for anything, I think he/ this song definitly deserved more shine than it got. And I don't feel like it's "too late"... Good music doesn't age.
The "Official Video" for the song (without my royal input) is posted below:
Listening to these remixes I've made has inspired me. As soon as something hot drops for now on, expect to hear my verse on it!

As you watch this video, I want you to know I was very cold. And I changed my mind... I'm throwing this up on "Foreign Exchange". It's too ill!

Over here at Da Fam we are in full swing for the 2011 business campaign. Tobi ‘Phella’ Alli (Founder), Joshua ‘Zoe’ Johnson (Pro Athlete/Da Fam Sports Group), and Karl Anthony (Artist/Da Fam Music) recently had the 2011 vision for the company captured by outstanding photographer Lawrencia Taylor.
The photo shoot served two purposes: Illustrating the “three headed monster” that is Da Fam Inc Branding & Marketing, Da Fam Sports Group, and Da Fam Music — and also showcasing the latest gear from F.A.M. University.
Enjoy the full set of photos and be sure to ‘Like’ Da Fam Inc on Facebook for more updates as well as info on how you can get your own F.A.M. clothing.via http://dafaminc.com/

Back in the studio for 2011!!!
After almost a two months hiatus, Phelly Phel and I hit the booth up for the first in 2011. He rapped over Kanye West's "Power" (bodied it), and then we laid some vocals over J. Cole and Drake's "In the Morning"; in which I took a friendly jab at him "Hip-Hopping" that I didn't think he would catch until later. Our session went pretty well. My new alterego "Karl Thomas" made both his studio and youtube debut. All in all, I think that you'll enjoy these joints!
Sidebar: Although I did do my thing, I wasn't aiming to body anyone on "In the Morning". Just trying to make something that I thought you folks might enjoy.

Celebrate My Return: "Light Up" x "Always Made It"
Soooo... picking up where we left off, I was gone for a bit but I'm back... more or less.
"Light Up" (as well as "Always Made It") were both recorded the same day as "BMF". The story behind "Light Up" is me getting that anxiety and pressure I feel everytime the year ends. While most people celebrate, I almost go into "depression mode" stressing about how I'm not getting any younger and am still not where I feel I should be; in more than one way.
If you listen close, I'm reflecting on the grind and work I put in 2010. I remember telling my younger cousin Idriss at the time that I'd probably stop rapping if I didn't make any progress on the business side of things. And then I ran into Phella (http://www.iamphella.com/). Now that I have a team behind me, I feel like it's "2 Infinty & Beyond" from here. (Pun intended).
"Always Made It" might be my all time favorite "50 Bar or more" verse I've done so far. The flow, punchlines, and metaphores are crazy on this one. Not to sound arogant, but now I can really say that "I can hang with the best". You can check out everyone else who rapped on this beat, "I bet they never said a better rhyme".

Although, I remember J. Rob pointing out that I said "plenty fishes in the sea" line twice ("BMF" & this). But I really didn't.
"There's plenty fishes in the sea if Nemo can't be found"
_Karl Anthony "BMF"
"There's plenty fishes in the sea, before I die I'll try the ocean"
_Karl Anthony "Always Made it"
Both clever ways of saying girls are like buses.

"Getting Caught Up" Blog #1: Go Away! No... Come Back!
This is the "freestyle" me & Phella did about a week ago to Kanye West & Pusha T's "Runaway". He hit me up the night before, we went in the next day and laid it down. Ironically, it was the same day that Kanye's mini movie came out! Enjoy.
Now Meet The Karlster (My real self)... Welcome!
Sooooo, basically this is MY blog. Key word being "MY" or "mine", meaning "your" opinion doesn't count. Unless of course, your opinion is that "Karl is the greatest"!!!
I plan on keeping y'all up to date with the developments in my life (mostly the music) on a semi weekly basis. If for some reason I'm unable to tend to my responsabilities, then my big homie Phelly "Phella" Phel (iamphella.com) will!
So I hope you'll enjoy riding with me as I take over the world. And remember, there's only one rule on iluvkarl.blogspot.com: The Karlster is always right!

Introducing Karl Anthony!!!
Bio
They say a journey of 10,000 miles begins with a single step. What if, though, that first step is into a brand-new, foreign land? For Virginia-based Rapper Karl Anthony, it’s been a tumultuous journey – one that began with a 10,000-mile trip, and with an end yet to be written.
Born in Cameroon, a disparate country in central Africa, Karl’s early misfortunes would later help catapult his rhymes into impassioned pleas of survival. “The circumstances I was born under – my parents weren’t married. At the time, in that particular culture – it was controversial…my mother had to drop out of college, and she tried to find work – which wasn’t promised as it is here.”
A move to Boston at age nine, while a better situation for the family, put Karl on the early defensive – at an age which otherwise would be spent in relative innocence. A native French speaker (France once shared Cameroon’s territory with England), the upheaval to an English-speaking land provided what could only be described as a massive culture shock. “It might have been the toughest part of my life,” he recalls. “You go from speaking freely with people, to a place where you don’t identify with anyone. You’re an outcast. Nobody could relate to me being from somewhere else – so hip-hip was a common ground.”
Also dealing with a father he’d see sporadically for weeks at a time, Karl turned to music as his own form of expression, communication – and acceptance. With hip-hop as the anchor, Karl’s influences of 50 Cent, Michael Jackson, along with his native African tones & drumbeats, allowed him to finally open his sphere of influence – and he hasn’t looked back since.
“From the time you wake up and start your day in morning, when you pop a CD in your car, you’re really trying to get ready for the day ahead of you – it’s personal therapy,” Karl says of his music. “And that’s something I try to reflect – music is an escape route.” Karl’s years of perceived jilt have also given him the gift of virulent observation – in the vein of Eminem and Joe Budden before him, he has a knack for championing the underdog.
Now nineteen, one more sudden move, this time to Virginia, gave the young poet a forlorn trip down déjà vu lane – this time, though, it was abound with musical benefits. As Karl reflects: “My most personal songs are based on my life, my conditions, and my surroundings. I want people to connect with my music, since it’s rooted in honesty. I feel like this age, where I’m at – it’s a transitional phase, and I try to capture that.”
With a rigorous work ethic (over 400 songs written over the past year), Karl’s ambition far exceeds the miles his voyage has covered thus far. As his musical journey begins, his life’s travels are finally coming full circle. With a return trip to Cameroon planned for later this summer, Karl’s honesty remains unrelenting. “I started off talking about ‘I got this, I got that’ – when in reality, I didn’t. It was just wishful thinking. Now, I feel like I’ve learned so much, and I just hope to have a larger platform – for the world to hear my music, and even more importantly, in some shape or form connect with my story.”
Karl Anthony’s debut mixtape, entitled Foreign Exchange, will be released later this year.
